Cherry Valley Heavy Rescue 541

Here is a look at Heavy Rescue 541 from Cherry Valley in Northern Illinois.  Cherry Valley Fire Rescue is very active in extrication challenges and usually sends a team to Crunch Time Extrication Learning Symposium every hosted by the Harlem Roscoe Fire District every fall.




Compartment Layouts:

20′, 3/16″ formed aluminum walk-around body, five (5) 1,000# slideout trays, nine (9) 400# slideout trays, two (2) 250# out/down trays, three (3) toolboards, adjustable shelving, six (6) hydraulic reels, two (2) electric reels, two (2) LP air reels, airbag storage, fender SCBA storage, little giant ladder storage, fuel storage cabinet, four (4) 1,000W side recessed scene lights, rear stairway w/integrated ladder storage, five (5) upper body compts, one (1) Command Light CL615-2MH-BL light tower.

Hydraulic System: Hurst Octoflow, six (6) reels (2 front bumper, 4 body compts.).

Air System: Six (6) ASME air storage cylinders, one (1) Bauer CFSII 1-position fill station w/ cascade controls, two (2) LP air reels.

Spartan Gladiator LFD 10″ RR cab/chassis, GVWR: 48,500#, WB: 215″, 21,500# front axle, 27,000# rear axle, Cummins ISM 500HP engine, Allison 4000 EVP transmission, 31″ extended front bumper (2 hydraulic reels, 4 hydraulic tools, speakers, airhorns, Q2B siren), seating for five (5) people, two (2) FRC 1,500W brow lights, one (1) Pioneer LED brow light, David Clark intercom system, four (4) flashlights.

OAL: 36′-2″ OAW: 9′-10″ OAH: 9′-11″

Delivered Weights: Front: 18,220 lbs. Rear: 17,340 lbs. Total: 35,560 lbs.

Vander Fire Department, Fayetteville (NC) Heavy Rescue

When spec’ing their new Heavy Rescue, Vander Fire Department chose a 24′ aluminum body mounted on a 4-Door Spartan Gladiator LFD chassis, which houses a Cummins X12 engine. This apparatus comes fully stocked with Hurst extrication equipment, KL series Light Tower, Warn Zeon winch, heavy-duty cargo trays and much more.

Fresno Fire Department, Fresno (CA) Heavy Rescue

When spec’ing their new Heavy Rescue, Fresno Fire Department chose a 26′ aluminum body mounted on a 4-door Spartan Gladiator chassis, which houses a Cummins X15 engine. This apparatus comes with a custom-built power tool storage tray, OnScene Solutions Transverse Cargo Slides, KL Command Light, dual awnings, Paratech strut mounting and much more.

North Charleston Fire Department’s Heavy Rescue

Heavy Rescue

North Charleston Fire Department’s WalkInHDR is prepared for all types of rescue. The apparatus features anchoring points on each side for technical rescues and has a winch on the front bumper. Inside the body, they selected a smooth aluminum-style wall. This rescue is prepared for technical rope rescue, structure collapse, confined space, and man-in-machine calls.
